K-12 Teaching

The Wheeler School, Providence, RI

Aerie Program Instructor

Through my time working at the Wheeler School, I had the chance to design and implement curricula across many different STEM subjects and grade levels. Designing and teaching these classes was one of the most fun jobs I've had! I got to focus on coming up with hands-on activities to get students of all ages interested in science and math. Working with K-12 students has made me a more effective instructor across all of the levels I teach at (even college!). See below for a list of the classes I designed and taught!

Gross Things in Nature (4th & 5th grade)

Weird Science (4th & 5th grade)

Math (7th grade)

Criminal Psychology (9th & 10th grade)

Botany (10th grade)

Plant Diversity (11th grade)

Rice Creek Field Station, Oswego, NY

Exploring Nature Instructor

I've actually been teaching science for over a decade, since I started working at Rice Creek when I was 16. Through their Exploring Nature summer education program, I got the chance to design lab and field based activities for children age 5-10. I actually attended Rice Creek as a student from age 5-15, so it was so rewarding to give back to the program that nurtured my love of science from a young age!
